Braved the rain yesterday to sample something new from Italianni's: their Abbondanza Take Away Platters.
Each variant is large enough to share between 6-8 people and there's a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Pretty affordable too:
They're perfect for impromptu get-togethers, dinner parties, business meetings, office lunches and my favorite, picnics!
Each take-away platter comes with a specially designed carry-on bag+ disposable cutlery making it really practical and easy to enjoy delicious gourmet meals on the go.
I am really obsessed with the the picnic idea and I plan to try it soon. All I need is a blanket, a bottle of wine, good company and a Formaggio e Prosciutto platter. (insert dreamy sigh here)
So anyway, back to the practical stuff...
I got to try out some of their salads (which by the way are all organic), an old favorite: the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, the Prosciutto e Formaggio platter and I also took home an order of their Seafood Cioppino Pasta.
Pretty happy to announce that despite the increase in portion, none of the flavor was lost. Each dish still tasted exactly the same as their ala carte single serve sizes.
And most importantly, everything is nicely packed and tightly sealed. None of the pasta sauce spilled despite the fact that Nikola (my daughter) was swinging the bag around on the way back to the car.
Our pasta still looked very presentable which definitely makes this new offering worthy of a party: casual or semi-formal.
